Oh, hello again!

by Ian on Wednesday, May 4 under , , , , , , , , , ,

We've been noticeably absent from the blog for a while, but with good reason!

We had some pretty amazing gigs over the past few weeks, including our first show at DC's famous Black Cat and a dance party with Japanese evacuees the Nobis (who, by the way, are incredible live!). We have more coming up; keep yourself posted by watching our calendar (over there on the right, it'll be updated today/tonight).

Our new EP is well underway -- we recorded at Inner Ear Studios in Virginia (click, read, learn) with Justin Moyer (you may know him from this band, or this one, or this one), and we couldn't be more excited.  Of course, we'll keep you loyal readers updated as we move things along with that.

Ok, I guess that's all I have for now.  I have a treat for you later tonight!
(It's not as dirty as I just made it sound.)

Painting with the Numbers Game [VIDEO]

by Lenorable on Thursday, March 31 under , , ,

Hello friends and fans!

A short while ago we filmed a video to go along with our song "The Numbers Game."  It's now on our YouTube channel and embedded on the right-hand side of our blog, for your viewing pleasure.

You can also watch it here! Make sure you switch the quality and watch it in HD, because it's better that way.

Drop us a comment, we'd love to hear what you think. Thanks!

(p.s. we'll be announcing some exciting new shows soon, if you aren't clever enough to see them in our upcoming shows list over that-a-way ----> )

You, Me, Them, Everybody, LENORABLE on the Internet!

by Ian on Tuesday, February 22 under , , , , , , , ,

We mentioned it previously, but here's a recap:

We appeared on You, Me, Them, Everybody LIVE, a podcast recorded at a number of locations (including one of our favorite bars, the Looking Glass Lounge in DC). Everybody got drunk (some more than others), the speakers or the mixing board or something distorted a lot, and by the end of the night we played a few songs.

Note to self -- Jim Beam is not the best stage manager, and headphones aren't a bad idea when the stage isn't actually a stage and there aren't any monitors.

This isn't from the Looking Glass, but it gives you an idea how the night went...

Check out our episode of the podcast by clicking here; Lisa's interview and our performance are toward the end, but don't skip ahead like a chud. It's hilarious and you'll be missing out on the other great interviews.

If you like it, or you're at least curious enough to come see a free show, come to garmentDISTRICT* March 12 at 7 p.m.  We're playing a free show with our good friends Dance for the Dying, I personally guarantee it'll be super radical.

*The corner of 7th and New York Ave. NW, Washington DC.

You, Me, Them, Everybody, LENORABLE @ Looking Glass Lounge

by Lenorable on Wednesday, February 9 under , , , , , , ,

HELLO FRIENDS -- It feels like it's been forever!

We have a show coming up. But this isn't some regular crammed-into-a-bar show.  It's a special crammed-into-a-bar show. Thursday night we'll be the musical guest on You, Me, Them, Everybody LIVE!

Click that link I just put up there to check out the show -- it's pretty sweet. We'd totally recommend it even if we weren't about to be on it.

Here's the best thing for all of you, though: it's FREE! Come out, have a shot of Beam and a can of Natty Boh, and it'll be the time of your life. Click here for the details: it's Thursday, Feb. 10, at Looking Glass Lounge in Washington, DC, starting around 8:30 p.m.

We'll have an audio link once the show's all edited and the podcast is put together. However, if you want it right away, you can subscribe to YMTE on iTunes by clicking this.

So if you'll do some of this stuff:

Pretty Colors

by LL on Wednesday, January 12 under , , , ,

Okay, so I've decided that perhaps doing something I really love might be worth it... especially since our band kind of needs the funds to progress in our infant career, given that we haven't been signed to an awesome label or anything yet.  Anyway, this past weekend I started on my little venture to make some art to sell at our next show.  I've got 9 canvases - we'll see if I can actually fill all of these with paint come next weekend (Sunday, Jan 23rd).

I started taking painting classes outside of school in junior high, and have had a very on/off relationship with my visual art since. (I've had a few extra-curricular flings with other mediums such as theater and poetry.)  My skills are pretty much limited to landscapes -- I can't draw a person to save my life -- so those have somehow evolved into rather surreal color schemes and styles.

Anyhow, here's a fun little preview of my unfinished work on our dining room table.  I really need to put together something more studio-ish that does not consist of furniture that we actually value, because I can be a messy, messy girl with my oils:
